On the 11th of April A.Le Coq representative Tarmo Noop and Gaudeamus 2006 representative Kulno Kungla will sign a sponsorship contract in A.Le Coq brewery museum.
The same brewery has produced Gaudeamus beer that will be presented during the grandiose event on the 11th of April. The beer will be available in University Caffee and during Gaudeamus events on Town Hall Square and Songfestival Arena. Also for the first time Gaudeamus design and programme will be presented to the public in A. Le Coq brewery museum.
Gaudeamus, taking place this summer is also a jubilee event – it makes 50 years since the first students’ song festival that was inaugurated in Tartu. Gaudeamus 2006 will be opened with concerts in Tartu University Aula and St. Johns´ Church and by a Grand Opening Ceremony on Town Hall Square. 1st of July will gather thousands of folk dancers and choir singers from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and United States for performances the centre of Tartu. The song and dance festival itself will take place on the 2nd of July in Songfestival Arena that is preceded by traditional Procession through the city of Tartu. This year Gaudeamus will host 6000 participants from Baltic countries.
The patron of Gaudeamus is the President of Republic of Estonia, Arnold Ruutel.
